Privacy Policy
This page explains in plain language what happens to data when you use wordling.net, written so you can read it in a few minutes.
Who is responsible
The operator responsible for this website under applicable data protection law is Honeygoat GmbH. You can reach us with any privacy question at info@wordling.de. The concrete operator details are being finalized and will be inserted here in full, including the registered name and postal address.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, running in a self-hosted, privacy-friendly configuration, to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. This measurement works without cookies and without any device fingerprinting. The information stays aggregated: page views, referring sites, approximate country, browser family and screen size class. These figures are counted at the level of the whole audience, so individual visitors remain indistinguishable in the reports we see. The legal basis for this aggregated measurement is our legitimate interest in a functioning, well-maintained website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Game progress in local storage
Streaks, high scores, solved puzzles, daily results and your interface settings are saved in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device, is readable only by wordling.net in the browser you played in, and is never transmitted to our servers. Playing requires no account and no registration of any kind. You can wipe this data at any time by clearing site data for wordling.net in your browser settings, which resets streaks and records to zero.
Advertising
This site displays advertising through Google AdSense, operated by Google Ireland Limited. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, including personalized advertising based on your interests. Where consent is required, personalized advertising runs only after you have agreed through the consent banner, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time via the privacy settings link in the site footer. Google's own privacy information explains the data it processes as a controller in this context; you can also manage ad personalization in your Google account settings.
Server logs
When you open a page, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information in server log files: the requesting IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, browser and operating system version, and the amount of data transferred. This data keeps the site secure and lets us diagnose technical faults. It is stored for a short retention period and then deleted. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to have processing restricted, to receive your data in a portable format, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority responsible for your place of residence.
Contact and updates
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask how something on this site works, write to info@wordling.de and we will respond as quickly as we can. We update this policy when the site changes, for example when a new tool or a new service provider is added. The version you are reading is the one currently in force, and the date of the most recent revision is shown at the foot of this page.
